STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team will be looking to build off of its upset victory over West Chester last Sunday when it heads to Clarion University to battle the Golden Eagles. The Huskies are 5-2-1 overall - three points behind East Stroudsburg for the top spot in the PSAC standings while Clarion is 2-7 overall and 1-7 in league play.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series against Clarion, 10-1-2. Last season, the two teams played to a scoreless double overtime tie at Steph Pettit Stadium with the Huskies holding a 9-2 edge over the Golden Eagles in shots. Bloomsburg also had a significant 10-0 margin in corner kick opportunities but could not dent the scoreboard.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
Bloomsburg, ranked seventh in the latest United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Regional poll released on Tuesday afternoon, posted a 1-0-1 record last weekend, earning a 0-0 double overtime tie at Mercyhurst on Friday before upsetting West Chester, 1-0, at Steph Pettit Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Redshirt sophomore Jenna Hawkins (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) earned the shutout in both games and has now not been scored upon in the last 229:17. She needed to make only one save at Mercyhurst but posted a career-high seven stops against the Golden Rams on Sunday. Offensively, the only goal was scored by senior Allie Barber (Pittston Township, Pa./Pittston Area) in the 61st minute on Sunday - her second goal of the season and the 15th of her career. It was also her fifth career game-winning goal and first of the 2018 campaign. Freshmen Nicole Varano (Paxinos, Pa./Mt. Carmel) and Rachel Clouser (Grantville, Pa./Lower Dauphin) earned the assists. Senior Taylor Sneidman (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) leads the Huskies in scoring with two goals and one assist for five points while Barber and sophomore Alex Burrows (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) have chipped in with a pair of goals for four points apiece. Both of Sneidman's goals have been game-winners which puts her in a tie for fifth place in the league in that category. Clouser and sophomore Natalie Holmes (Laurel, Md./Archbishop Spalding) are tied for fourth on the team with a goal and an assist for three points apiece. Sophomore Maggie McDonald (Burke, Va./West Potomac) and freshman Kate Schlotter (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) have each scored single goals on the year. Sophomore Lauren Hoelke (Blackwood, N.J./Highland Regional) leads the team with two assists while senior Erin Bielski (York, Pa./Century (Md.)), juniors Megan Callan (Sykesville, Md./Century) and Alexis Rostucher (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg), and Varano each have one helper. A total of 12 different Huskies have registered at least one point this season. Hawkins has played every minute in goal and is 5-2-1 with a 0.49 goals against average and an .826 save percentage. She leads the league in shutouts with six, ranks fourth in the league in goals against average, and is seventh in save percentage.

SCOUTING CLARION
The Golden Eagles enter with a 2-7 overall record and just a 1-7 mark in conference play but their last five losses have been by one goal and four of those have been of the 1-0 variety. Offense has been tough to come by for Clarion has it has scored only six goals in nine matches. The team's two victories came in back-to-back matches at Ursuline on September 18 and at Mansfield last Sunday. Mackenzie Sheldon has scored a team-high two goals while Meliah Roman, Veronika Noyszewski, Charlotte Allen, and Dani McNally have each scored once on the year. Roman, Noyszewski, and Sheldon lead the team with four points apiece. Krista Mosi (five starts) and Brigid Stermel (four starts) have split time in goal for the Golden Eagles. They have combined for a 1.56 goals against average and an .800 save percentage.
