ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg leads the all-time series against Kutztown, 108-58. Last season, the teams met three times with the Golden Bears winning all three contests including a 93-79 decision in the first round of the PSAC tournament. Both regular season contests were decided by just five points.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies snapped a four-game losing skid with a 77-71 win over Lock Haven on Wednesday night to improve to 4-6 overall and 2-4 in the PSAC East. Junior
Ky Mauras (Reading, Pa./Reading) poured in 22 points while freshman
Travis Elmore (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) added 15 points and a career-high 14 rebounds in the victory. The Huskies also got 11 points from junior
Austin Harriott (Philadelphia, Pa./Hun School) and 10 points from freshman
Sekou Fofana (Upper Darby, Pa./Springfield Commonwealth). Fofana scored eight of his 10 points during the final 9:40 of regulation and also secured a huge offensive rebound with 27 seconds left which led to a pair of Mauras free throws to extend the lead to six points. Elmore has reached double figures in each of the first ten games to start his collegiate career and is second on the team in scoring at 15.1 points per game. He also leads the team in rebounding at 7.6 boards per contest. He ranks in the top 25 in the PSAC in both points and rebounds and is tied for sixth in the league in blocks per game (1.1). Mauras leads the team at 18.2 points per game (eighth in the PSAC) and leads the team in assists per game (3.2) and steals (17). Redshirt junior
Sam Saxton (York, Pa./Central York) is just shy of double figures as he averages 9.3 points per game while also pulling down 5.0 boards per contest. Harriott fills the box score with a little of everything on a nightly basis. He chips in 7.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per contest while ranking second on the team with 10 blocks and 16 steals. The Huskies are 15th in the PSAC in scoring offense (71.3) and are last in the league in scoring defense (86.3). Bloomsburg has struggled shooting the basketball as it ranks last, or second-to-last, in field goals (40.9%), three-pointers (23.9%), and free throws (58.1%).
SCOUTING KUTZTOWN
Kutztown is 8-6 overall and 2-4 in the PSAC East and is coming off of a 74-61 victory at Bowie State on Wednesday afternoon. The Golden Bears have followed a win with a loss after each of their last five victories. The Golden Bears are third in the PSAC in scoring offense, averaging 83.9 points per game. However, Kutztown is 15th in the league by allowing 82.1 points per contest defensively. Kutztown also struggles turning the ball over as it averages 17.0 miscues per game. Only Gannon (17.7) has committed more per game in the PSAC this season. Kutztown is led by the odds-on favorite for PSAC East Player of the Year in redshirt senior Anthony Lee. Lee has not scored fewer than 15 points in any game this season and posted a career-high 50 points at Pitt-Johnstown on December 8. All told, Lee leads the PSAC by a wide margin in scoring, averaging 27.6 points per game - the next closest is Slippery Rock's Micah Till at 21.5. Lee is third in the PSAC in threes per game (3.3) and currently leads the team in assists per game (3.8), steals (23), and total three pointers (46). Lee is also 14th in the PSAC in field-goal percentage (50.8%) and is second in foul shooting (91.2%; 93-of-102). Moe Williams nearly averages a double-double at 12.9 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Ricky Hicks (10.6 ppg) is also in double figures.
