STORYLINE
The #7 Bloomsburg University women's soccer team looks to push its winning streak to 11 games on Wednesday afternoon when it travels to newly added conference opponent Shepherd University for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup with the Rams. The Huskies, ranked seventh in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll, are 12-1 overall and 10-1 in divisional play. The Rams, meanwhile, are 0-11-2 overall and 0-10-1 in the conference.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Bloomsburg and Shepherd have only met one time in the history of the two schools, back on September 21 where the Huskies defeated the Rams by a final score of 4-0 at Steph Pettit Stadium. Four different players scored for the Huskies in the win while
Jenna Hawkins (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood)Â and
Riley Spingler (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) combined for just one save in the shutout victory.

SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies have won ten straight and enter with 11 wins in their opening 12 matches of the season. Bloomsburg took care of Mansfield on Saturday evening defeating the Mountaineers 5-0 at Steph Pettit Stadium.Â
Paige Harris (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) recorded her first two goals in a Huskies uniform in the win while
Abby Groff (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) also notched her first goal of the season.
Lauren Hoelke (Blackwood, N.J./Highland Regional)Â and
Megan Callan (Eldersburg, Md./Century) rounded out the rest of the goals for Bloomsburg in the conference win while Hoelke also added two assists on the evening. Bloomsburg has outscored its opponents by a 35-4 margin in the opening 13 matches of the year. Hoelke leads the team in scoring with seven goals along with seven assists good for 21 points on the season.
Nicole Varano (Mt. Carmel, Pa./Mt. Carmel)Â is second in scoring with six goals and an assist good for 13 points while
Maggie McDonald (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) comes third with four goals and two assists for 10 points thus far this season. In goal,Â
Jenna Hawkins (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) has played all but 68 minutes and is 11-1 with a 0.40 goals against average and an .872 save percentage. She is first in the PSAC in goals against average, third in save percentage, and is third in shutouts (6).
SCOUTING SHEPHERD
Shepherd is 0-11-2 on the year and 0-10-1 in conference play. The Rams two ties came on October 2 and September 5 against Lock Haven and Frostburg State, where both contests ended in a 1-1 tie. Sara Hohn leads the Rams in scoring with four goals on the season good for eight points. Hohn has also recorded 42 shots which puts her in eighth in the PSAC in that category. Emma Bernardoni is second in scoring with a goal and an assist while Sydney Cauffman has tallied two assists this season. In goal, Lulu Fricks and Meghan Byers have split the majority of time and have combined for 104 saves. Fricks holds a 2.00 goals against average with a 0.789 save percentage while Byers has saved 0.787 percent of her shots with a 2.45 goals against average.
UP NEXT
The Huskies will be back on the road on Saturday, October 26, to battle the Bald Eagles of Lock Haven before returning home to face PSAC rival Kutztown on October 30. Start time against Lock Haven is slated for 2:30 p.m.
