STORYLINE
The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team will look to keep the momentum rolling on Wednesday evening as it will be searching for its seventh consecutive win when it welcomes nationally-ranked West Chester University to Steph Pettit Stadium. The Huskies, ranked 21st in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll released late Tuesday, are 8-1 overall and 6-1 in the PSAC Eastern Division while the eighth-ranked Golden Rams are 7-1 overall and 6-1 in divisional play.
ALL-TIME SERIES
West Chester leads the all-time series against Bloomsburg, 21-14-4. Last season, however, the Huskies 1-0-1 against the Golden Rams after earning a 1-0 win during the regular season and then the teams played to a 1-1 double overtime tie in the semifinals of the PSAC tournament. Bloomsburg went on to defeat West Chester in penalty kicks, 2-0, to advance to the championship round where Bloomsburg defeated East Stroudsburg to earn the program's first PSAC title since 2002. West Chester is 8-1-1 against Bloomsburg in the last ten meetings.
SCOUTING BLOOMSBURG
The Huskies have won six straight and enter with eight wins in their first nine matches of the season. Bloomsburg's last game came on Wednesday, October 2, when the Huskies defeated rival Kutztown University, 2-0, on the road. It was Bloomsburg's last win over the Golden Bears since 2010.

Jenna Hawkins (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) recorded two saves in her fifth shutout of the season. Bloomsburg has outscored its opponents by a 22-3 margin in the opening nine matches of the year and has received goals from nine different players.
Lauren Hoelke (Blackwood, N.J./Highland Regional) leads the team in scoring with four goals and four assists for 12 points on the year. Varano is second in scoring with five goals for ten points which puts her in a tie for seventh in the conference in goals. McDonald is third on the team with three goals and one assist for seven points on the season.
Natalie Holmes (Laurel, Md./Archbishop Spalding) and
Jamie Marsico (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) each have registered two goals as well for Bloomsburg. In goal, Hawkins has played all but 31 minutes and is currently 8-1. She leads the PSAC in goals against average (0.34) and save percentage (.897). Hawkins also ranks second in the conference in shutouts (5) and has 24 for her collegiate career as she trails only Amy Linn (1992-95), who finished with 27, and Frances Nicoletti (2008-11), who totaled 26, on the school's all-time list.
SCOUTING WEST CHESTER
West Chester enters the contest with a 7-1 overall record on the year and a 6-1 mark against divisional opponents. The Golden Rams' last game came on Saturday where it defeated Shippensburg by a score of 2-1. West Chester outshot the Red Raiders by a 15-4 margin, while Olivia Muha scored both goals in the victory. Goalkeeper Brooke Myers recorded three saves in the win. Hannah Zach leads the team in scoring with five goals along with one assist for a total of 11 points. Muha has also tallied five goals for ten points while Jenny Bail has notched four goals for eight points on the year. Zach's and Muha's five goals also rank in a tie for seventh in the PSAC. Myers has played a majority of the time in goal and is 7-1 with a 0.55 goals against average - third in the PSAC. She also ranks in the top ten of the conference in shutouts (3) and save percentage (.857).
UP NEXT
Bloomsburg will continue conference play when it heads to Millersville University on Saturday, October 9, for a 3:00 p.m. start. The Marauders are still unbeaten on the season and ranked sixth in the country. The Huskies don't return home until Wednesday, October 16, to play Shippensburg at 4:30 p.m.
