BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University men's basketball team is receiving votes according to the latest D2SIDA Atlantic Regional poll released this week.

The Huskies (5-3, 2-1 PSAC East), riding a three-game winning streak, received three votes in the regional poll – one vote shy of cracking the top ten in the region. Indiana University of Pennsylvania collected all six first-place nods and remained the top team in the region. West Chester, Shippensburg, Fayetteville State, and West Liberty rounded out the top five.

Bloomsburg rattled off victories against Seton Hill and Cheyney before posting a convincing 94-78 win over regionally-ranked Pitt-Johnstown last Saturday. The Mountain Cats were seventh in the region entering the contest and dropped to eighth in this week's poll. The victory over Pitt-Johnstown snapped a five-game losing skid in the all-time series and ended the Mountain Cats' eight-game winning streak.

The Huskies are second in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) by averaging 87.1 points per game through their first eight contests of the season. Freshman Justin Anderson (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) leads a balanced scoring attack by posting 17.6 points per game which puts him 13th in the conference. Redshirt junior Max Wagner (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) is right behind at 17.5 points per game while senior Ky Mauras (Reading, Pa./Reading) is chipping in 16.7 points per game – top 20 in the league.

Six others on the roster are averaging at least five points per game.

Wagner, meanwhile, is tied for fourth in the league in rebounding (8.9), is tied for second in the conference in field goal percentage (60.9%), and is second in the league in blocks per game (1.5). Mauras is second in the conference in assists per game (6.0).

Bloomsburg will look to make it four straight when it returns to action on Monday, December 16, when it heads to Wilmington University for a non-conference contest. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m.
