Women's Lacrosse Ranked Third In Latest NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Poll

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team remains third in the latest NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional rankings. The poll does not reflect the results from Wednesday afternoon's action.

The Huskies are in the midst of a three-game losing streak including a 14-8 setback at 14th-ranked East Stroudsburg on Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, Bloomsburg has been eliminated from the upcoming Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) but remain in the thick of things for a regional spot according to the latest poll. The top four teams from each of the four regions - Atlantic, East, Midwest, and South - will advance to the national tournament.

Redshirt sophomore Grace Kelleher (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) leads the Huskies in scoring with 38 goals and 27 assists for 65 points. She leads the conference in points per game (5.42) and also ranks in the top ten in the league in goals per game (3.17) and assists per game (2.25). Senior Hannah Jaskuta (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) had added 38 goals and 14 assists for 52 points in her final season with the Huskies. Sophomore Abby Bergman (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) is third on the team in scoring with 28 goals and five assists for 33 points while ranking second with 48 draw controls. Fellow sophomore Anna Dempsey (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) is having a solid all-around year for the Huskies as she is fourth in scoring with 22 goals and eight assists for 30 points while leading the team with 52 draw controls. She has chipped in 28 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers on the year.

In goal, junior Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) ranks third in the PSAC with a .535 save percentage and is eighth with a 9.70 goals against average. She is also one of four goalkeepers in the league averaging more than ten saves per game on the year. DiPasquale is tops on the team with 47 ground balls.

As a team, the Huskies lead the PSAC in ground balls (433) and caused turnovers (256) while ranking sixth in the conference in goals per game (11.88).

Bloomsburg wraps up the 2019 regular season with a home contest against Gannon University on Saturday, April 27. Start time from Steph Pettit Stadium is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and will serve as Senior Day for the Huskies.
