COMPLETE IWLCA RELEASE
BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Four members of the Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team have been named 2019 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II All-Atlantic Region selections as announced by the organization. Senior defender
Abby Nocito (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) was named to the First Team while junior goalkeeper
Angela DiPasquale (Paramus, N.J./Paramus), redshirt sophomore attack
Grace Kelleher (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side), and sophomore defender
Tiffany Diachynsky (Barto, Pa./Boyertown Area) earned spots on the Second Team.
All four earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) accolades earlier in the month as Nocito was a First Team honoree while DiPasquale, Kelleher, and Diachynsky were tabbed Second Team selections.
Nocito and Diachynsky were integral parts of a Huskies' defense that led the PSAC in caused turnovers per game (15.76) and ground balls per game (26.88) in 2019. Nocito was stellar defensively in her senior season, ranking second in the conference in caused turnovers (2.53), and leading Bloomsburg in ground balls with 49. Diachynsky, meanwhile, was third in the PSAC in caused turnovers per game (2.47), and scooped up 41 ground balls on the year. The sophomore started all 17 games for Bloomsburg this season, and added five draw controls.
DiPasquale was brilliant between the pipes this season, ranking fourth in the PSAC in save percentage (.531) and saves per game (10.31). Her 9.55 goals against average (GAA) was good for seventh in the conference, and her ten wins on the year tie a career-best mark she set last season.
Kelleher was an offensive machine this season, leading the conference in points per game (5.08) and ranking fourth in assists per game (2.08). Kelleher led Bloomsburg total points (66) and assists (27), and was second in goals scored (39). In the Huskies' 17-10 win over Lock Haven, Kelleher notched nine points on three goals and a career-high six assists.
They are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will celebrate the 2019 All-Americans during Divisional All-American Specials, which will be aired on Lax Sports Network in mid-June.Â
The Huskies finished the 2019 season with an 11-6 overall record - the second consecutive season with double-digit wins. The 11 victories marked the most by the program since 2012.
