BLOOMSBURG, PA- The Bloomsburg University women's swim team dropped to Clarion women's swim and dive, 153-84, Saturday evening at 6:00 pm. The Huskies competed in the Tippin Gymnasium & Natatorium for the first time in BU history.

The Golden Eagles renovation on the Tippin Gymnasium & Natatorium was completed in November of 2019, but due to COVID-19 this was the first time the Huskies have stepped foot on the campus of Clarion University since 2015.

Sophomore Madison Osanitsch (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) was a dominant force Saturday evening as she swept first place in both the 1000 and 500-yard freestyle. She posted a 1000-yard freestyle time of 11:09.75, just off her season best, and touched the wall first in the 500-yard freestyle at a time of 5:23.86. Osanitsch has been a crucial member of the Huskies distance program this season and continues to leave her mark in the pool. Osanitsch rounded out her evening as she was one of four Huskies a part of the 400-yard freestyle relay, splitting a 58.07 in the 100 free and gained a total of 18 points for the Huskies. She was joined on the 400-yard Free relay by junior Alicia Lehman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks) (56.67), freshman Maggie Shaffer (East Petersburg, PA/Hempfield) (55.98), and graduate student Lindsay Mooney (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) (52.83).

Junior Grace Beierschmitt (Dover, Pa./Dover) added 12 points overall for the Huskies as well as taking a first, second and third place in her events, Saturday evening. Beierschmitt started off her meet with a second-place finish in the 400-yard Medley relay, splitting a 1:00.50. She was joined by her teammates: junior Anna Sugra (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) (1:09.17, 100-yard Breaststroke), Shaffer (59.85, 100-yard Butterfly), and junior Courtney Hubric (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) (54.86, 100-yard Freestyle). Beierschmitt finished with a third-place finish with a time of 25.00 in the 50-yard Freestyle. She closed out the night with a first-place finish and a season best in the 200-yard backstroke touching the wall at 2:13.23.

The Huskies have a break from competition as they prepare for their mid-season championship meet; the Zippy Invitational from December 3rd- 5th in Akron, OH at the Ocasek Natatorium.
