SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University men's track and field team sent a pair of athletes to the Shippensburg University Mid-Week Meet, Wednesday, and the two freshmen picked three of top-eight finishes for BU.
Freshman
Andrew Basile (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) impressed on the track as he came away with a pair of podium finishes in the sprints. Basile took fifth overall in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.45, dropping his season-best time by just under two seconds. He also took eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.05. His time in the 400-meter dash currently ranks 20
th in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) standings.
Freshman
Noah Meckes (White Haven, Pa./Crestwood) competed in his second meet for the Huskies and finished sixth in the javelin. Meckes recorded a distance of 50.07 meters (164' 3") for his best throw of the season by 5.43 meters. Currently, Meckes is ranked 14
th in the PSAC.
The Huskies are scheduled to compete at the East Stroudsburg All-American Meet on Saturday, April 17.
