BLOOMSBURG, Pa. The Bloomsburg men's swim team hosted Division III Dickinson College Saturday afternoon as they started off the second half of their season with a win,134-79 against the Red Devils.
The Huskies started the meet off strong as they took first, second and third place in the 200-yard medley relay. The winning relay, consisting of senior
Jace Fry (Palmyra, Pa./Lower Dauphin), senior
Cameron Junk (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen), junior
Andy Thomas (Harleysville, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) and senior Nick Madey touched the wall at 1:36.83.
The Huskies went the distance as juniors
Luke Scoboria (Birdsboro, Pa./Exeter) and
Jimmy Greek (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) took on the 1650 (mile). Scoboria took the win with a time of 17:15.97, where his teammate Greek finished with a time of 18:02.96.
Freshman
Tony Goulstone (Hazelton, PA/Hazelton) continues an impressive first year as he touched the wall first in the 200-yard free with a time of 1:47.54, just ahead of senior
Dan Mueser (Mount Joy, Pa./Elizabethtown) who finished with a time of 1:48.05.
Senior
Collin Hummel (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) picked up his first individual win in the 50-yard free slamming into the wall at 21.70. Junior
Blake Nesbitt (Wind Gap, Pa./Nazareth) was right behind him as he sprinted into the wall at 21.94.
Junior
Nick Fiddler (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh), Fry, and junior
Tucker Ball (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) made some noise in the 200-yard individual medley as they finished first, second and third. Fiddler slammed into the wall at 1:59.66, Fry touched just after at 2:01.50 and Ball rounded out the individual medley for the Huskies with a time of 2:03.85.
Hummel collected his second individual win in the 100-yard butterfly touching the wall with a time of 53.49. Junior
Connor Empie (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) and senior
Matt Marvin (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) finished fourth and fifth respectfully.
After a close race, Red Devils Damon St. Prix took first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.14, just out-touching Huskies Scoboria who finished with a time of 49.26. Junk was right in the action finishing third with a time of 49.69 and freshman
Tanner Glatfelter (Dover, PA/Dover) touched fourth with a time of 50.30.
Goulstone picked up his second individual win in the 100-yard backstroke as he dove into the wall at 54.19. Nesbitt and Ball went stroke for stroke and tied for second place with a time of 54.90.
Mueser dove into distance as he competed in the 500-yard freestyle and picked up an individual win of his own with a time of 4:59.02.
The Huskies closed out the individual races with the 100-yard breaststroke as Thomas shattered the field with a time of 58.86. Touching behind Thomas, Marvin finished with a time of 1:01.37 and Junk picked up a fourth place finish with a time of 1:01.96.
The Huskies continue the action Saturday afternoon as they compete in the Bahia Cabana sprint meet against Dickinson College.
