SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Saturday afternoon, the Bloomsburg University men's swimming team opened the 2022-23 season with a dominant 137-68 win over Shippensburg. The Huskies collected 20 top-three finishes, won nine of the 11 events, and posted 16 PSAC qualifying marks.

The Huskies kicked off the meet with a 1-2 finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
Tucker Ball (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff),
Blake Nesbitt (Wind Gap, Pa./Nazareth),
Dan Mueser (Mount Joy, Pa./Elizabethtown), and
Pat Agnew (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) won with a time of 1:56.53, while
Tony Goulstone (Hazelton, PA/Hazelton),
Sean Witmer (Millmont, PA/Mifflinburg),
Nick Fiddler (Lafayette Hill, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh), and
Andrew Holmes (Monroeville, PA/Gateway) came in second at 1:38.03.

The win in the 200-medley relay kicked off seven-straight event wins for the Huskies.
Luke Scoboria (Birdsboro, PA/Exeter) won his first event of the day with a PSAC qualifying time of 10:07.36 in the 1,000-yard freestyle.
Michael Huegel (Springfield, PA/Spriingfield) finished with a PSAC time of 10:12.43 to take second, and
Jimmy Greek (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) took fourth with a time of 10:32.67.

Andy Thomas (Harleysville, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) picked up his first of two individual wins, finishing first in the 200-yard freestyle with a PSAC time of 1:43.39. Holmes came in second with a PSAC time of 1:47.65.
Tanner Glatfelter (Dover, PA/Dover) took seventh at 1:53.01, and
Luke Willard (Orefield, PA/Parkland) finished eighth at 1:53.37.
Josh Mansfield (Southampton, PA/William Tennet) took ninth at 1:54.33.

Agnew got an individual win and PSAC mark in the 50-yard free as he touched the wall at 22.03. Nesbitt wasn't far behind as he took third with a time of 22.57, a PSAC mark as well.
Matt Marvin (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) came in fifth at 22.89.

Goulstone won the 200-yard IM with a PSAC time of 1:58.87, and
Nick Zaffiro (Orefield, PA/Parkland) finished second at 2:01.43, a PSAC qualifying mark. Ball came in at 2:05.96 and finished fifth, while Greek took sixth with a time of 2:06.36.

Mueser earned the sixth-straight win of the Huskies as he took first in the 100-yard fly with a PSAC time of 52.41. Huegel finished fourth with a time of 55.30, and Mansfield took fifth at 55.39.

Thomas picked up his second win of the day in the 100-yard free with a PSAC time of 46.51, and Agnew was right on his heels as he finished at 48.64 to take second with his second PSAC mark of the day. Fiddler finished fourth overall with a time of 50.81, and
Connor Empie (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) finished fifth at 50.97. Marvin finished seventh at 51.03.

Goulstone finished second in the 100-yard back with a PSAC time of 55.21, and Ball came in at 55.30 to take third with a PSAC qualifying time.

Scoboria won his second race as he touched the wall at 4:54.78 to win the 500-yard free with a PSAC qualifying mark. Willard took fourth at 5:06.64, and Greek finished sixth at 5:12.24.

Nesbitt posed a PSAC time in the 100-yard breaststroke as he took second at 1:00.38, and Witmer finished third with a PSAC time of 1:01.95. Zaffiro came in fourth with a time of 1:02.29, and
Nicholas Madey (Pittsburgh, Pa./Northgate) took fifth at 1:02.55. Glatfelter finished sixth with a time of 1:03.21, and
Dennis Dukinas (Dallas, PA/Dallas) finished eighth at 1:05.74.

The Huskies wrapped up the meet with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Holmes, Scoboria, Mueser, and Thomas finished with a time of 1:26.47. Mansfield, Fiddler, Huegel, and Marvin took third with a time of 1:31.68.

The Huskies return to the pool next Saturday as they head to rival West Chester for a 1:00 p.m. meet at the Graham Natatorium.
