LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's track and field team had a solid opening season meet at the Bison Opener, hosted by Bucknell University, Friday and Saturday.
 
Doug Walsh (Old Forge, Pa./Holy Cross High School) highlighted the weekend for the Huskies as he finished fourth overall in the heptathlon Friday night with 4,195 points. He took second in the 60-meter dash with a personal-best time of 7.28 before taking second in the long jump with a distance of 6.33 meters. He finished sixth overall in the shot put with a throw of 8.77 meters before winning the high jump with a personal-best jump of 1.92 meters. He PR'ed the 60-meter hurdles and took sixth with a time of 9.57 and took sixth in the pole vault with a height of 2.75 meters. Walsh wrapped up the heptathlon with a fourth-place finish and PR in the 1,000-meter race with a time of 2:57.93.
 
On the track, the Huskies collected three top-10 finishes. Robert Wilson (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) took sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.08 while Andrew Basile (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) finished ninth with a time of 53.52. Brady Dowell (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) took fourth overall in the 500-meter run with a time of 1:13.11.
 
Brenden Gardner made his debut for the Huskies and took 11^th in the 300-meter dash with a time of 42.11 and 11^th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.13.
