Josh Mason's (New Ringgold, Pa./Blue Mountain) impressive season came to an end in the first round of the consolation bracket of the 2022 NCAA DI Wrestling Championships, Thursday evening.

The Bloomsburg University wrestling team sent at least one representative to the NCAA championships for the fourth-straight season. Mason earned a spot thanks to his second-place finish at the Mid-American Championships two weeks prior.

Mason opened the NCAA tournament with his 15
th pin of the season in the pigtail match of the 141-pound bracket. After a quick takedown, Mason flipped Dylan Cedeno from UVA on his back and got him on his shoulders early in the first period. After gaining control, Mason forced Cedeno's back to the mat and got his 15
th pin at the 2:11 mark.

With the win, Mason advanced to the first round of the tournament against the top-ranked and No. 1 seed at 141, Nick Lee of Penn State. Lee earned a 15-3 major decision win over Mason, and the redshirt junior headed to the consolation bracket.

Mason battled Dylan D'Emilio to the last whistle in the first round of the consolation bracket but ultimately fell 9-6 to end his championship run.

Mason ends the year with a 20-10 record, including 15 pins and two major decision wins.
