MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Bloomsburg University track & field teams opened the 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday.
 
Kevin Konyar (Winchester, Va./James Wood) finished just outside of the podium in the 10,000-meter run as he took ninth overall with a time of 31:51.04. Ryan Duff (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) finished 14^th with a time of 34.57.60 and Michael Gavio (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) took 16^th with a time of 33:16.34.
 
Kelly Gilmore (Colmar, Pa./North Penn) finished 11^th overall in the hammer throw with a throw of 45.74, which she hit on her first toss of the day.
 
In the multis, Doug Walsh (Old Forge, Pa./Holy Cross High School) is currently in fourth in the decathlon after the first five events. He ran a 11.35 (3^rd) in the 100-meter dash before hitting 6.07 meters in the long jump to take sixth. Walsh finished 11^th in the shot put with a distance of 9.09 meters and cleared 1.83 meters in the high jump to take second in the event. Walsh closed out the day's events with a time of 54.57 to finish ninth in the 400-meter dash.
 
Lauren O'Malley (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) is currently 13^th in the heptathlon after the first four events. O'Malley took 14^th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.11 before finishing 13^th in the high jump as she cleared 1.36 meters. She finished 10^th overall in the shot put with a distance of 9.31 meters and closed out the day with a 15^th place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.86.
 
The three-day conference championship meet will continue tomorrow (Friday, May 13) at Millersville University's Biemesderfer Stadium. The meet will wrap up Saturday, May 14 and the full championship schedule is available at buhuskies.com.
