BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg wrestling team dropped a 40-5 decision to Cleveland State Saturday afternoon on Senior Day. Prior to the match, the Huskies honored their three graduating seniors – Matt Benedetti (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan), Trenton Harder (Gardners, Pa./Bermudian Springs), and David Tuttle (Steubenville, Ohio/Steubenville).

Freshman Caden Dobbins (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) had a strong day on the mat for the Huskies with a 16-0 tech fall at 4:30 against Daniel Patten at 165 pounds. Dobbins controlled the bout from the opening whistle with an early take down and a pair of four-count near falls in the first period. He chose bottom for the second period and got an escape to push his lead to 12-0. Dobbins closed out the match with a takedown to win 16-0 with the benefit of riding time.

Bronson Garber (Millersburg, Pa./Upper Dauphin) had a back-and-forth nailbiter at 125 pounds but fell to Ben Aranda 6-4. Garber got on the board first with a takedown in the first period but Aranda got his escape to end the first 3-1 with Garber on top. Aranda chose bottom for the second and scored an escape before getting a takedown of his own to take a 5-3 lead going into the third period. Garber picked bottom to start the third and got the escape he needed but time ran out to secure the last take down as Aranda held on for the 6-4 win.

Nolen Zeigler (Loysville, Pa./West Perry) battled DeAndre Nassar to the very end at 174 pounds but Nassar secured a takedown as time ran short in the third period to come from behind for a 4-2 win. Zeigler scored first with an escape in the second period and led 1-0 after two rounds. Nassar chose bottom for the third and tied the match at 1-1 with an escape. A pair of stalls were called against Nassar to give Zeigler a 2-1 lead but the Nassar took the 4-2 lead with a takedown a the end of the third.

The Huskies close out dual season on Wednesday, February 21 at Rutgers at 7:00 p.m.
