Box Score 2 SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. – A balanced offense led the Bloomsburg baseball team to a doubleheader split with Shepherd, Monday. The Huskies and Rams also split the season series, 2-2. The Huskies dropped the first game 4-3 on a walk-off before bouncing back for a 14-3 win in the night cap.

The Huskies wasted no time to get out to an early lead in game two as
Brady Ebbert (Etters, Pa./Red Land) singled down the left field line with two runners on to bring home
Jeremy Cawley (Duryea, Pa./Pittston Area).
Josh Wilson (Clinton, Md./Bishop McNamara) followed with a single to load the bases and
Brady Gibble (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) got hit by an 0-2 pitch to bring home
Wyatt Metzger (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) and give the Huskies a 2-0 lead. Ebbert came around to score to push the Bloomsburg lead to 3-0 at the end of the top of the first.

Landon Lorson (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) got a 1-2-3 inning in the home half of the first and the Bloomsburg offense spotted its starter two more runs in the second. After
Ryan Flury (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) got hit by a pitch,
Jacob Reifer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia Area) homered to left to push the Bloomsburg lead to 5-0. The Huskies broke the game open in the third as
Owen Wilhide (York, Pa/Northeastern) hit a three-run home run to left field for an 8-0 Bloomsburg lead. Reifer got his third RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly to center to bring home Flury.

The Rams got their first base runner of the game as I Carter walked on four pitches but a strike out from Lorson ended any threat.

After a scoreless fourth for Bloomsburg, the first inning in which the Huskies did not score, the Rams cut the lead to 9-3 in the bottom of the frame. Connor Dewees hit a three-run home run for the Rams for their only runs of the game.

The Huskies and Rams traded scoreless fifth innings before Metzger joined the home run party with a two-run blast to left to give Bloomsburg an 11-3 lead in the sixth. Ebbert hit the Huskies fourth home run of the game in the top of the seventh with Metzger and Cawley on to push the Huskies' lead to 14-3.

Matt Vernieri (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) got two quick outs in the bottom of the seventh before Ethan Jones worked a 2-2 count and ended the game with a swinging strike for the 14-3 Bloomsburg victory.

Eight of the Huskies nine starters in the lineup had at least one hit, and four players had multiple hits hit. Ebbert led the Huskies with 4 RBI while Cawley and Metzger each scored three times.

Vernieri got the win in the second game, coming out in relief and going 3.2 innings. He allowed just one hit and did not walk anyone. He picked up six strikeouts on the day.

The Huskies got out to an early lead in the first game as Metzger singled to left to bring home Reifer in the top of the first, but the Rams tied the game in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run from Sam Daggers. The Rams took the lead with another solo shot by Corey Jamison in the fifth.

Bloomsburg tied the game in the seventh with an RBI triple from Metzger and took the lead with an RBI single from Ebbert.

The slim one-run lead was put to the test in the bottom of the seventh and back-to-back two-out home runs for the Rams gave the hosts a 4-3 walk off victory in the first game.

Metzger had three hits, two RBI, and a run scored while Ebbert had a pair of hits for an RBI.
Mike Cacioppo (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) took the loss for the Huskies after going 1.1 innings and allowing two runs on two hits and had one strikeout.

The Huskies have a short departure from conference play as Bloomsburg travels to Clarion for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader.
