KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's golf team sits in second place after the opening round of the Kutztown Women's Fall Invitational at the Moselem Springs Golf Club on Sunday afternoon.

Freshman
Emma Lewis (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown) leads the Huskies while sitting in a four-way tie for third. Lewis shot an 11-over 81 while recording one birdie and five pars. The freshman was excellent down the stretch, going one-over through the final five holes.

Nadia Yackanicz (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) sits one stroke back in seventh after posting a 12-over 82 in her collegiate-debut. The Schwenksville-native went three-over on the front nine with six pars. Yackanicz tallied nine pars on the day.

Kate Pettersen (Alberta, Canada/North Island Distance Education) recorded an 18-over 88 and is 13th on the leaderboard. The highlight of her round came on the fifth hole as she birdied the 145-yard par three.

Sophia Reed (Estero, Fla./Estero) rounds out the Huskies' scorers, sitting in a tie for 15th with a 20-over 90. Reed started the round with a birdie on the opening par-four.

Bloomsburg finds itself four strokes back of the leaders after tallying a 61-over 341 on day one.

The second round kicks off at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 6 in a shotgun start.
