BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Freshman
Olivia Magagna (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg) of the Bloomsburg Huskies is set to step into the national spotlight when she competes in the 2025 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wis.
Â
Magagna, a Lancaster, Pa., native and former Lampeter-Strasburg standout majoring in Sports Nutrition, has enjoyed a standout debut season with the Huskies. She opened the year by capturing the Doug Watts Open crown with an impressive 5K time of 18:06.2. She followed that with a runner‑up finish at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships over six kilometers, posting a time of 22:22.6. Most recently, at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championships, Magagna placed eighth and earned All‑Region status by covering 6K in 21:42.0.
Â
At Kenosha, Magagna will face the nation's elite Division II field, including automatic qualifiers and at‑large selections from the country's top conferences. Key to her success will be establishing a strong tempo early, adapting to rolling terrain, and maintaining her finishing kick in the closing stretch.
Â
It is the third-straight year the Huskies are sending a runner to the national meet as former standout
Kelley Selheimer (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) went in 2023 and 2024.
