KENOSHA, Wisc. - Freshman Olivia Magagna (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg) made her mark in her first season with the Bloomsburg women's cross country team as she finished 86th overall at the NCAA Women's Cross Country National Championship on Saturday. 

Magagna finished 87th overall with a final time of 21.42.0 after an impressive race. She hit the 1K mark at 3:42.1 and was in 156th. She moved up 11 places at the 2K mark as she had a 3.38.3 split for a time of 7:20.3. As she hit the halfway mark at 3K she had moved up another 14 places with a 3:36.7 split for a time of 10:56.9. 

The freshman continued her steady pace as she hit the 4K mark at 14:25.5 with a split of 3:28.6 and another 15-spot move to get to 116th overall with two kilometers left in the national championship. 

Magagna made her biggest move of the day as she overcame 2 spots in the next 8,00-meters with a 3:01.0 split to take over 95th overall at 17:26.5. In the final 1.2K, Magagna moved eight spots in 4:15.6 to finish 87th over at 21:42.0, just 1.8 seconds off her season-best time at a Husky. 

The 87th-place finish for Magagna is the highest finish for a Husky since Kate Dodds took 42nd overall in 2015.
