LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - After helping Bloomsburg women's soccer to a 2-0 week, senior forward Alexa Arrigale (Blackwood, N.J./Highland Regional) is the PSAC East Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week.
Arrigale is off to a career-best start to the 2025 campaign, with last week's games continuing the trend. Arrigale finished the week with three goals in two games. The forward began the week with a brace against Mansfield in under 10 minutes for Bloomsburg in a 7-0 win over Mansfield. Arrigale carried her goal-scoring efforts in the Huskies' 3-2 win over Millersville on Saturday. The senior netted Bloomsburg's second of three second-half goals in the contest after swiping the ball from the defender and beating the goalkeeper one-on-one.
Arrigale's fast start has already set a new career-best season for the forward. Arrigale's three goals this week were more than her previous career high set a season ago after netting two as a junior. With four goals on the season, Arrigale is currently tied for the division lead in goals scored and carries a three-match goal streak.
Arrigale is leading the charge of a highly-motivated and confident Bloomsburg attack that scored 10 goals in its two games last week. The Huskies in those contests had a 56-12 advantage in shots, 25-5 edge in shots on goal, and a 19-5 difference in corner kicks. The team effort for Bloomsburg has seen the team get off to the program's first 4-0 start since the 2008 season.
PSAC action ramps up for the Huskies this week as the team is back on the road to face off against Shippensburg on Wednesday, September 17, before returning home on Saturday, September 20, to take on West Chester.Â
