BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's tennis team opened the 2025-26 season with the Husky Invitational this past Saturday and Sunday.

The Huskies had a strong showing through the Women's Silver Singles bracket. After losing her first match on Saturday, Macarena Arisio came back to win her first match of the day today, 6-2, 6-4 over Anna Poranski of Slippery Rock.
Lily Sierka () defeated Poranski 6-0, 6-3 on Saturday, though fell to Roua Limem from Morgan State, 6-2, 7-5 on Sunday.

In the Maroon Singles bracket,
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) came back on Sunday with a 4-6, 6-4, 10-4 win over Marta Serra Carles of Morgan State after dropping her first match on Saturday.
Dasha Nakonechna (Spain/IOC) defeated Elena Arenas of Chestnut Hill 6-4, 0-6, 10-7 to set up a fifth-place match between the two Huskies, though they did not play the match.

In doubles action, Sierka and Sarah Buck won the fifth-place match in the Women's Gold Doubles bracket 6-1 over teammates Arisio and
Maddie Delisio (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin High School).

In the Maroon doubles bracket,
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) and Nakonechna opened the weekend with a 6-2 win over Lilian Bandel and Veronika Lundgren of Chestnut Hill on Saturday. The pair dropped their second round match to Damla Arslan and Lauryn Hall of Morgan State to earn a spot in the third-place match. Seele and Nakonechna defeated Julia Jeffrey and Tyler Williams of Morgan 6-4 to finish third for the weekend.
The Huskies get right back to action next Friday, September 12, when they host the two-day Dynamic Duo Tournament  at the Burt Reese Tennis Center.
