ATHENS, Ohio. – The Bloomsburg wrestling team closed out its dual on Friday night with a heavyweight victory, but Ohio used a deep lineup and six bonus-point wins to secure a 37-3 decision over the Huskies in MAC action.

Ohio jumped out to an early lead at 125 pounds as Brayden Teunissen earned a fall at 4:47 over Justin Jones (Orange County/Locust Grove). The Bobcats continued to build momentum through the lower weights, picking up a major decision at 133, followed by back-to-back decisions at 141 and 149 to extend the advantage.

At 157 pounds, Ohio added another bonus-point result with a major decision before edging out a 4-2 decision at 165. Braidon Woodward (Canisto-Greenwood, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) fought until the final whistle and seemed to have a reversal to tie the match at 4-4 but the horn sounded just a second before he had control. The visitors then put the dual further out of reach with tech fall victories at both 174 and 184 pounds, collecting valuable team points in the middle of the lineup.

Ohio maintained control at 197 with an 11-0 major decision, pushing the team score to 37-0 heading into the final bout of the night.

Bloomsburg avoided the shutout in the heavyweight matchup, where Mason Rebuck (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) delivered a strong performance for the Huskies. Rebuck controlled the bout from the opening whistle, earning an 8-1 decision over Wyatt Schmitt to cap the dual and put Bloomsburg on the scoreboard.
