BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Bloomsburg swimming head coach
Bridget Flick has announced the learn to swim program dates for this spring.
Â
Led by the Huskies' coaching staff and members of the Bloomsburg swim team, lessons will consist of four 40-minute sessions in one week.
Â
Lessons are offered at two different levels: novice and intermediate. The novice lessons are for young children still learning to become more comfortable in the water. Skills learned at this level include entering the pool safely, going under the water, holding their breath, floating, kicking, and retrieving submerged objects.
Â
The class is for children who have mastered all Level I skills. They will learn the basics of swimming including kicking on both back and stomach, streamlining off the wall, rhythmic breathing, and the introduction of other strokes.
Â
The first session begins on Monday, March 30 and runs through Thursday, April 2. Three other sessions will take place the following three weeks (April 6-9, April 13-16, April 20-23). Novice lessons will run from 4-4:40 p.m. while the intermediate classes will take place from 4:50-5:30 p.m.
Â
The one week of lessons is $80 and payment will be due at the first lesson. To register or for more information, contact coach
