BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's tennis team is set to compete in the NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament beginning on Thursday, May 14 in West Chester. The Huskies earned the No. 5 seed in the Atlantic Region and will take on No. 4 East Stroudsburg at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Serpico Stadium.

HOW THEY GOT THERE
The maroon and gold earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and will face both East Stroudsburg and No. 1 West Chester in the double elimination regional. Bloomsburg finished the regular season 27-19 and went 14-14 in conference play. Despite narrowly missing out on the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) tournament, the Huskies heard their name called during the selection show will compete in the NCAA tournament for the sixth time in school history.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Bloomsburg finished the season third in the PSAC in team batting average with a .322 while posting 432 hits, 285 RBIs and a .435 on-base percentage. The Huskies are a tough team to strikeout, finishing as the least-struck out team in the conference this season.

 The PSAC East Player of the Year,
Grant Russo (Sugarloaf, Pa./Hazleton Area), leads the maroon and gold into the post season with a team-best .429 batting average. Russo led the team with 63 hits, 53 runs and a school record 36 stolen bases. The Sugarloaf native has consistently gotten on base this season with 63 hits, 25 walks, and 20 hit by pitches, all while striking out just seven times.

Dylan Hirsh (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) is second on the team with a .357 batting average with 35 hits, 23 runs and 33 RBIs in 35 games played. Second baseman
Matt Freda (Lafayette, N.J./High Point Regional) posts a .326 batting average while shortstop and All-PSAC East Second Team shortstop
Jace Jarmon (Millsboro, Del./Sussex Central) rounds out the Huskies' stellar middle infield.

On the mound,
Aiden Murphy (Mountain Top, Pa./Wyoming Seminary) claimed All-PSAC East Frist Team honors as a starting pitcher, posting a 7-2 record and a 3.59 ERA.
Brandon Wozniak (Nanticoke, Pa./Nanticoke Area) holds the lowest ERA of the Bloomsburg starting pitchers at 2.98 while going 4-2.
Andrew Armstrong (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) finished the regular season with a 3.93 ERA.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
East Stroudsburg finished the season with a 35-13 record and tied for West Chester with a 20-7 record. Three Warriors have recorded at least 50 hits on the season, including the team-leader, Walker Zampella, with 56. Troy Davis leads the team with a .380 batting average and has notched 49 hits.

On the mound, Ryan Dewees leads the team with a 2.70 ERA and a 7-2 record. The senior has notched 82 strikeouts across 66.2 innings pitched. Ethan Woods and Evan Hughes have been solid arms for ESU as well, holding a combined 12-5 record and ERAs of 3.51 and 3.68, respectively. Â

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN RAMS
Ranked 11th in the latest American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) poll, West Chester claimed the top spot in the Atlantic region. The Golden Rams enter the NCAA tournament with a 39-10 record and went 20-7 in the conference slate.

Hunter Smith sits atop the WCU leaderboard with a .368 batting average, tallying 53 hits and 49 RBIs this season. Austin Stalker leads the team in both hits (56) and home runs (10) this season.

Julian Costa has been a standout on the mound for the Golden Rams, going 10-2 with a 2.66 ERA. The PSAC East Pitcher of the Year has struck out 67 while posting four complete games and three shutouts in 2026. Kyle Lazer and Luke Raho have been reliable arms for WCU, holding ERAs of 3.35 and 4.61, respectively.

The winner of this Atlantic Regional pod will face off next week against the winner of the other Atlantic Regional (Millersville, Seton Hill and Charleston) in a best-of-three Super Regional. The winner of the Super Regional will punch its ticket to the Division II Baseball Championship in Cary, N.C.
