LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - After anchoring the Huskies' defense to a pair of victories to open the season, junior goalkeeper Molly Bross (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) was named the PSAC Athlete of the Week by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.

Making her collegiate debut starting in goal, Bross led Bloomsburg to a 2-0 start to the season with two shutouts. The junior made 13 saves across her first two career games, stopping seven shots against Southern New Hampshire and recording six saves against No. 6 St. Anselm.

The Huskies' goalkeeper helped maintain the composure of the team's backline throughout the weekend, taking on numerous attempts by the opposition to get on the scoreboard. As a team, Bloomsburg fended off 21 penalty corners in the first two games of the season, 14 of which came in the second half of those contests. 

Bross made five of her seven saves against SNHU during a determined home side attempting to find a consolation goal. On Sunday, Bross made three early stops against the Hawks to set her team up for a 1-0 lead early in the second period before making an additional three saves in the second half to guide her team to a ranked victory over St. Anselm.

The Bloomsburg field hockey team is back in action for the season opener at Steph Pettit Stadium on Wednesday, September 9, at 4:00 p.m., with a matchup against Adelphi.
