EDINBORO-The Bloomsburg University wrestling lost to 22nd-ranked Edinboro University by a score of 22-13 on Friday night in Edinboro.
The Fighting Scots won the first four bouts of the night before the Huskies got a win by technical fall from ninth-ranked Matt Moley (Phoenixville, Spring-Ford) at 149 pounds who posted a 16-1 victory. At 165 pounds 11th-ranked Rick Schmelyun (New Oxford, Bermudian Springs ) also won by technical fall earning a 16-0 score. The win marked the third straight match for Schmelyun without allowing a point and winning by tech fall. Bloomsburg won its third straight match at 174 pounds when Nate Graham (Selkirk, NY, Ravena) won 5-3 to make it a 19-13 lead for the Fighting Scots.
Edinboro, though, won the final three matches by decision to win 28-13. Bloomsburg, 9-8, 1-4 in the EWL, will wrestle at Lock Haven on Friday, Feb. 12. Edinboro improves to 7-4, 3-0 in the EWL.
