INDIANA – It was a successful weekend for the Bloomsburg University men's swimming team as it came away with a pair of dual meet victories at the Crimson Hawk Invitational Saturday afternoon hosted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
The Huskies (6-3) defeated Indiana (PA), 175-154, and Gannon University, 176-151 on the second day of the two-day invite. It was Bloomsburg's first win over Indiana (PA) since the 2006-07 season, and first against Gannon dating back through the 1999-2000 season.
Bloomsburg set three new Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) marks in the morning session. A total of 25 cuts, both new and existing were made Saturday.
Morning Session

Freshman
Bill Urban (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) earned his fourth and fifth cuts of the season Saturday morning. He finished in 1:51.65 in the 200-free for fifth overall, and in 54.78 seconds in the time trials of the 100-fly.
Junior
Adam Varvaro (Egg Harbor Twp., N.J./Egg Harbor Twp.) earned his third cut of the season with a mark of 1:52.04 in the 200-free. Senior
Jeremy Frey (Pipersville/Central Bucks East) swam in the time trials of the 100-fly and posted a season-best mark in a previously qualified event of 53.26 seconds.
Evening Session
The Huskies posted nine PSAC qualifying marks in the evening session. In the 200-back, three BU swimmers finished in the top four and all three posted qualifying marks. Frey won the event with Cancro finishing in third and Urban fourth.
Junior
Bryan Masilotti (Vineland, N.J./Vineland), an owner of three NCAA-B times and three PSAC times this season, finished in second in the 100-free in 48.65 seconds. Masilotti has already posted an NCAA-B time in the event.
Freshmen
Jake Harner (Philadelphia/Father Judge) and
Tyler Gross (Pottstown/Pottsgrove) finished first and second in the 200-breast, respectively. Both swimmers finished in qualifying times, but did not improve upon their existing marks set earlier this season.
Bloomsburg now looks ahead to the PSAC Championships on Feb. 14-17 in Mechanicsburg, Pa. The Huskies finished fifth at last year's conference championships.
