The Bloomsburg University women's cross country team will be back in action on Saturday, September 23, when it heads to Lock Haven University to compete in the school's 16th annual invitational. The 6K event will get underway at 11:30 a.m. and will be a part of Lock Haven's Homecoming festivities. A total of 21 schools will take part in the event on Saturday including seven from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference - Bloomsburg, Clarion, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Slippery Rock, and West Chester.
Last Saturday, the Huskies finished 13th out of 18 schools competing at the DII/DIII Challenge hosted by Kutztown University. Senior
Hannah Boudreau (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) paced the Huskies as she finished 12th overall with a time of 23:47.9. She has now led the Huskies in each of the first two races this season. Redshirt senior
Alana Jacaruso (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) was right on her heels as she finished 14th with a time of 23:57.2. It marked a personal best time for Jacaruso in the 6K distance. Redshirt sophomore
Samantha Strype (Copiague, N.Y./Massapequa) was the third Husky to cross the finish line as she placed 103rd with a time of 27:11.4. Junior
Danielle Adornetto (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) posted a time of 29:32.8 for a 148th-place finish while freshman
Mayelin Santiago (Lancaster, Pa./McCaskey) finished in 30:34.0 to place 161st overall and to round out the Huskies' participants on Saturday.
Two weeks prior, the Huskies defeated Mansfield in the annual Husky Invitational with Boudreau and Jacaruso finishing 1-2 in the event.
UP NEXT
Bloomsburg will travel to Painesville, Ohio on Saturday, October 7 to compete at the Storm Invitational, hosted by Lake Erie College.
