BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — The Bloomsburg men's swimming team continued to flash its early-season potential Friday evening against West Chester, producing multiple event victories and PSAC standards across all strokes in a competitive dual with the Golden Rams.
Junior
Jack Drake (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg Area) led the way for the Huskies, sweeping the sprints and butterfly events. Drake opened with a
20.97 win in the
50 freestyle, just off an NCAA provisional time, and later added a
1:52.59 victory in the
200 butterfly, comfortably under the PSAC mark. He closed the night by leading off the Bloomsburg's winning
400 freestyle relay, which clocked
3:05.21 — the team's fastest early-season relay performance.
Senior
Ian Hamilton (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) continued his surge as one of the conference's premier freestylers, posting a season-best
46.40 to win the
100 freestyle, ahead of West Chester's Till Schroeder. Hamilton anchored the winning 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 45.45. Hamilton,
Andrew Holmes (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway), Tommy Houck, and Drake won at 3:05.21. Hamilton took second in the 50-yard free with a PSAC time of 21.11.

200 freestyle (1:45.56) and fourth in the
500 freestyle (4:55.16), both conference-qualifying marks.
The Huskies' distance group showed solid depth behind
Michael Huegel (Springfield, Pa./Spriingfield) who finished fourth in the
1000 freestyle (10:23.60) and sixth in the
500 free (5:02.23), and freshman
Max McCloskey (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West), who clocked
10:29.91 in the 1000 free.
Junior
Matthew Boehme and sophomore
Tommy Houck went 3–4 in the
200 IM, both under PSAC times, while
Nick Zaffiro (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) highlighted the breaststroke group with a
2:12.30 mark in the
200 breaststroke — the top Bloomsburg finisher.
Freshman
Daryn Ginter (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg Area) added depth in the sprints, hitting PSAC standards in both the
50 free (22.23) and
100 free (47.87), while junior
Brayden Kemezis (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) and
Cole Verga (Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrence) contributed top-five efforts in middle-distance races.
The Huskies' winning relay of
Drake, Holmes, Houck, and Hamilton closed the night in style, clocking
3:05.21 to cap a meet that featured 20+ PSAC-qualifying swims across the roster.
Bloomsburg will return to competition next Saturday when the Huskies head to Kutztown for a PSAC tri-meet with the Golden Bears and Edinboro beginning at 4:00 p.m.
