BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg University men's and women's swimming teams held their annual Senior Celebration Day on Saturday afternoon at the Nelson Field House pool as the Huskies will graduate 13 seniors after the conclusion of the season.
The teams also had a little fun in the pool on Saturday as eight 50-yard races took place - one each for the men and women in each of the four strokes.
The women concluded the regular season with a 7-1 overall record. The Huskies lost the season opener against West Chester before rattling off seven straight victories. The women will graduate six seniors who all have played a vital role in the success of the program - Colleen Finias, Brooke Gilson, Kaci McIlmoyle, Connie Medura,
Courtney Middleton (Vineland, N.J./Vineland), and Alison Turzanski.
On the men's side, the Huskies completed the program's first undefeated regular season in school history (program started in 1959-60)Â as they finished the year with a perfect 7-0 record. Included in the record was a season-opening win over West Chester - the program's first victory over the Golden Rams since the 1989 season.
Seven men will graduate at season's end - Michael Anderson, A.J. Brady, Bobby Lenahan, Chris McPeak, Ryan Paisley, Pat Stasio, and Eric Usbeck.
Bloomsburg will then head to the PSAC Championships in York, Pennsylvania, on February 16 through February 19. Both teams finished second to West Chester in the overall team standings last season.
