COMPLETE FRIDAY RESULTS
YORK, Pa. - Redshirt junior
Kyle Dix (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) earned his second Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) individual title of the week as he captured the win in the 100-yard breaststroke on Friday night as the Bloomsburg University men's swimming remained in second place in the overall team standings through three days of the PSAC Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center. The Huskies have a total of 510 points and trail West Chester by 137 points with one day remaining.
Dix posted a time of 55.60 in the 100-yard breaststroke to win the event one night after he captured the title in the 100-yard butterfly. Dix missed an NCAA "B" cut by four one-hundredths of a second but he did increase his positioning in the 50-yard freestyle as he swam a time of 20.09 in a time trial to start the night. That time is currently tied for 18th in the country.
Three others scored for the Huskies in the 100-yard breaststroke - sophomore
Noah Cancro (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford) placed fifth with a time of 57.36 while redshirt sophomore
Matt Rocchi (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) took seventh with a time of 57.80. In the "B" final, freshman
Nicholas Madey (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth) continued his solid weekend with a fourth-place finish in the "B" final as he posted a finals time of 59.30.
The Huskies also had a strong showing in the 100-yard backstroke with freshman
Colton Schnars (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) finishing third in the finals of the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 49.90. Senior
Nathan Mihalko (Windber, Pa./Richland) competed in his first "A" final of his collegiate career and took eighth in the event with a time of 52.56. Sophomore
Colin Bauer (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) won the "B" final with a time 51.98 while Rocchi placed seventh in the "B" final with a time of 54.02.
In the 200-yard butterfly, freshman
Jace Fry (Palmyra, Pa./Lower Dauphin) placed eighth overall with a time of 1:55.21. Senior
Philip Nawn (Media, Pa./Penncrest) won the "B" final by touching the wall in 1:55.83 with sophomore Coloin Bauer, junior
Jordan Wyant (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity), and senior
Matthew Schulz (Norristown, Pa./Methacton) also scoring in the "B" final. Bauer was third (1:56.43), Wyant was sixth (1:57.19), and Schulz was seventh (2:00.48).
After Dix posted a season-best time of 20.09 in the 50-yard freestyle time trial, junior
Doug Boehme (Blue Bell, Pa./Buxmont Christian Academy) placed third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:43.72 as he was the only Huskies' scorer in the event.
The fourth and final day of action will get underway on Saturday with morning preliminaries beginning at 10:00 a.m. Finals will start at 5:00 p.m.
