LANCASTER, Pa. – Â
Nick Zaffiro (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) earned his first NCAA 'B' cut of the season as he led the Bloomsburg men's swimming team to sit in second at the 2024 Franklin & Marshall Invite after the first day of action.

Zaffiro took second overall in the 200 IM with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 1:50.87. He earned a spot in the finals after hitting 1:53.52 in the prelims this morning. Zaffiro missed first placed by just .56 of a second. Matthew Boehme and
Ethan Coffman (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) joined Zaffiro in the A finals and Boehme took sixth with a time of 1:55.09 while Coffman finished seventh at 1:55.65.
Tanner Glatfelter (Dover, Pa./Dover) qualified for the A final as well with a time of 1:56.22 in the prelims.

Sean Witmer (Millmont, Pa./Mifflinburg) took third in the B finals and 11
th overall with a time of 1:56.82 while
Chad Jones (Akron, Pa./Ephrata) took 12
th overall at 1:56.83.
Constantin Buga (Philadlephia, Pa./Northeast) finished 21
st overall at 1:59.00 and
Connor McClurkin (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) took 23
rd with a time of 2:00.25.

The Huskies closed out the first day with a thrilling race in the 200-yard freestyle relay and came away with the win by edging out Mount St. Mary's by .07 of a second. Adler Zawdony led off the race with a time of 21.50 in the first 50 and
Jack Drake (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg Area) swam a 20.46 for time of 41.96 after the first 100 yards. Ian swam a 20.13 in the third 50 while
Andrew Holmes (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) closed out the race with an impressive 20.13 to pull the Huskies ahead in the final 50 for the win at 1:22.86. Bloomsburg's team of
Tyler Tinsley (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area),
Cole Verga (Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrence),
Luke Willard (Orefield, Pa./Parkland), and
Josh Mansfield (/) took 14
th overall with a time of 1:28.39.

Michael Huegel (Springfield, Pa./Spriingfield) opened the meet with a 13
th place finish and fifth-place time in the B Finals of the 500-yard free at 4:49.07 while Willard took 15
th overall at 4:52.67.
Ethan Robertson (/) finished 19
th overall with a. time of 4:55.01.

Drake narrowly missed an NCAA 'B' cut as he took fifth overall in the 50-yard free finals at 20.73. Holmes finished first in the B finals and ninth overall with a time of 20.77 while Hamilton finished 12
th at 21.24.

The team of Hamilton, Witmer, Drake, and Holmes finished fourth in the 400-yard medley relay at 3:26.04 while the team of Verga, McClurkin, Glatfelter, and Zawodny took ninth with a time of 3:29.99.

The Huskies get back in the pool Saturday morning for the prelims at 10:00 am followed by the finals that evening on Day Two of the F&M Invite. Currently, the Huskies are in second with 386 team points.
