Bill Paule was a four-year varsity letter winner for the Bloomsburg wrestling program from 1961-65. Paule was the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) champion and a PSAC runner-up twice. He finished as high as fourth in the NAIA National Tournament.

During his sophomore season in 1962-63, Paule was the PSAC champion at 157 points after posting a 9-4 record in dual matches. He finished fourth at 147 pounds at the NAIA National Tournament. Paule was a back-to-back PSAC champion after capturing the title again in 1963-64. That season he went 7-4 in dual matches.

Paule went 10-1-2 in dual matches during his senior season and finished second in the PSAC at 147 pounds. He capped his career as a Husky with a fourth-place finish at the NAIA Tournament. During the 1961-62 season, Paule went 5-3 in duals as a freshman and finished second overall at 147 pounds at the PSAC championships.

During his time at BU, the Huskies went 45-4-1 in dual meets.
