Kreiser was a member of the 1948 undefeated football team where he played defensive end. During his career, the Huskies posted a 23-3 overall record. Kreiser received All-Conference, All-Pennsylvania and Little All-America honors and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, he opted to pursue his profession as a teacher and coach. A two-sport athlete, Kreiser was a two-year starter for the Bloomsburg basketball team. He later played in the semiprofessional Eastern Basketball League before becoming head basketball coach at Columbia High School. In 11 seasons, he won seven league titles and posted a .850 winning percentage.
