Hall of Fame
Gibble was a four-year letter winner for the baseball team. In 1966, he led the Huskies in games pitched, complete games, innings pitched and strikeouts. In 1968, he led the team in wins, ERA, strikeouts and innings pitched. Over his entire collegiate career, Gibble averaged over one strikeout per inning pitched. After graduation, he signed a professional baseball contract with the Oakland Athletics and played in the Gulf Coast, Florida State and Southern leagues before retiring.
