Russ Verhousky

Verhousky was a standout on the football field for the Huskies and helped the team to a record of 28-4-1 in his four years under Hall of Fame coach Robert Redman. Playing both offense and defense, Verhousky was a four-time letterwinner for the Huskies, often times playing the entire game. As a junior in 1951, he on the last undefeated Huskies' team and was co-captain for one game, an honor usually reserved for seniors. As a senior, he was named to the first-team All-Teacher's College team, while, as a junior, he was named honorable mention All-Pennsylvania by the Associated Press and second-team All-Teacher's College.
