Hall of Fame
A walk-on to the track and field team, Koetteritz scored more points for the Huskies than any other athlete, accumulating 348 during his four years on the team. He posted 56 victories, 20 second- and eight, third-place finishes, while leading the team to a record of 54-7 in dual meets. A three-year captain, he set nine indoor and outdoor school records in the pole vault, sprinting and relay events, several of which still stand. As a senior, he qualified for the NCAA championships in three events, placing ninth in the 440-relay and 10th in the 220-yard dash. Koetteritz was also the first freshman to receive the President's Scholarship Award. He later went on to be the first person to ever win all four major senior awards: the Academic Achievement Award, the Lifetime Athletic Pass, Who's Who Among American College and Universities and the Service Key Award.
