Hall of Fame
Kathy Frick was a two-sport athlete, competing in field hockey and in women's lacrosse, and then went on to coach the women's lacrosse team for six seasons at Bloomsburg.
She was a three-year member of the field hockey team from 1988-90 and helped the team post an 62-6 record, two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships, and two NCAA Division III runner-up finishes in 1988 and 1990. Frick was a two-time First Team National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American in 1989 and 1990 and earned the PSAC Athlete of the Year Award during her senior season. She was also a two-time First Team All-PSAC selection. She is currently ranked 11th in school history in career goals (45) and is 15th in career points (92).
In women's lacrosse, she was an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) First Team All-American, as a defender, in 1990.
She went on to coach the Huskies' lacrosse program from 1999 to 2004 and guided Bloomsburg to a 60-29 overall record (.674) and a 32-10 mark (.762) in PSAC competition. Her winning percentage is the best all-time in program history and her 60 coaching victories ranks third in school history. She led the Huskies to two PSAC Championships and three PSAC runner-up finishes and also coached the 2003 squad to an NCAA Semifinal appearance – still the only NCAA appearance for the women's lacrosse team since the program's inception in 1977.
She was honored as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2000 after the Huskies finished the year as the top-ranked school in the division. Frick also served as an assistant field hockey coach at Bloomsburg and was part of four Division II National Championship teams.
