Don Butler

Don Butler was a four-year letter-winner for the Huskies in baseball and a three-time letter-winner in basketball.

As a member of the baseball team Butler finished his career with a batting average of .407 while hitting 14 homers and driving in 53 runs. He helped the team to a four-year record of 41-9. Butler hit safely in 18 straight games at one point of his career, covering parts of three seasons. During the course of his streak he had two or more hits 15 times and had a hit in 42 of his 50 games he played in during his career. Butler was also an excellent outfielder making just one error during his career.

As a member of the basketball team Butler scored 348 points in his career and was the team's second leading scorer during the 1950-51 season when he averaged 10.6 points per game.

Following his graduation Butler played in the farm system of the then Boston Braves and the Chicago White Sox.
