Donan was one of the premier linemen of Pennsylvania college football and was named an AP All-Pennsylvania football first team all-star. In addition, he was an All-Pennsylvania Conference All-Star and a third team AP Little All-American. After graduation, Donan went on to become a successful high school coach, leading his teams to a combined record of 44-29-4 and two conference titles.
