Hall was a standout on the mats for the Huskies. He was the first Bloomsburg wrestler to place (fifth) in NCAA competition and first to be named All-American. He was also an NAIA champion and a two-time PSAC champion. Along with his fifth-place NCAA finish, Hall was third at the NAIA championships as a senior helping him earn the school's Robert B. Redman award as the Outstanding Senior Athlete in 1963.

A teacher for over 30 years, Hall helped start the wrestling program at Cocalico (Pa.) High School in 1963. In 1970, he coach three sectional champions and a runner-up in the Lancaster County League.
