Bloomsburg Athletics

A two-sport star at Bloomsburg, Herzig excelled in both basketball and track and field for the Huskies. He is the school record holder for rebounds in a career and rebounds per game in a season. He finished his career with 1,362 points and was an All-Pennsylvania Conference All-Star in both the 1963-64 and 1964-65 seasons along with being an All-Eastern Regional selection in 1964-65. As a track and field performer, Herzig was a high jump and triple jump specialist and, at one time, held the school record in the triple jump.
