Kucharski, the 1967 winner of the Robert B. Redman Award, was a three-year member of the football team. A versatile player, he saw time as a wide receiver, halfback, fullback and middle linebacker for the Huskies and served as tri-captain during both his junior and senior years. As a senior he was leading the nation in pass receptions (28), receiving yards (485), touchdowns (10) and scoring (64) before suffering a season-ending knee injury in the fourth week of the year. Kucharski finished his career with 66 receptions for 1,205 yards and 21 touchdowns. He was named All-PSAC honorable mention at offensive end in both 1966 and 1967, while earning second All-PSAC as a defensive back in 1967. He set a school record (since tied) with four touchdown receptions against Shippensburg in 1967.
