Slocum was a four-year letterwinner and three year starter in softball. She finished her career with an average of .348, while hitting 10 homeruns and driving in 105 runs. She also had 26 doubles, eight triples and 257 total bases. As a senior she set school records for runs scored in a season with 65 and for at-bats in a season with 199 (both records since broken). A three-time All-PSAC selection and two-time captain, she was named first team All-America in 1990 and second team All-America in 1988 and 1989. Slocum also earned Academic All-American honors as a senior and was selected to the 1990 Division II East Regional All-Tournament Team. She helped lead the team to a third place finish in the NCAA Division II Championships in that year.
