Michael Wenrich was a standout on the Bloomsburg men's basketball team. In just over three seasons, he scored 1,397 points, ninth-best in school history. He is 15th at Bloomsburg in rebounding for his career with 612 boards over his three-plus seasons.

After suffering an injury early in his first season with the Huskies, Wenrich returned for a second freshman year in 1979-80 and set Bloomsburg's scoring record with 443 points, a mark that stood until the 2019-20 season, while also pulling down a team-high 197 rebounds. His scoring average of 16.4 points per game led the PSAC and earned him Second Team All-PSAC East honors.

During the 1980-81 season, Wenrich again led the team in scoring, posting 456 points in 30 games for the Huskies. His scoring prowess was highlighted during the PSAC tournament that season. After scoring 39 combined points in the first two games, Wenrich played his best in the championship game versus Indiana, netting a career-high 29 points, which led the Huskies to their first-ever conference title. Wenrich was honored by the PSAC with Second Team accolades for the second-straight season.

Early in his final season, Wenrich was the eighth player to join the 1,000-point club, reaching the milestone while scoring a season-high 27 points in a win over IUP. He concluded the season with 469 points and was named to the PSAC East First Team.
