Bugg was named to the third-team NSCAA Women's Scholar Athlete All-America Team in 1998-99, and was twice named to the PSAC Academic Team and PSAC Fall Top 10 team.

In 1997-98 she was named the Joanne McComb Underclass Female Athlete of the Year after leading the team with 12 goals and six assists and being both a CoSIDA All-District Academic All-American and PSAC Fall Top 10 selection. Bugg helped the Huskies to a four-year record of 62-10-8, the best four-year record in school history, and two PSAC titles and the school's first-ever NCAA playoff appearance. As a senior she led the Huskies to a 16-1-4 record, the best record in school history, and a fifth place national ranking. Bugg still ranks seventh in career goals scored with 33 and career assists with 15, while her 81 career points are eighth best in school history.

Bugg went on to earn her doctoral degree in Psychology from Colorado State University in 2006.  She is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Washington University in St. Louis. Among other courses, she teaches Experimental Psychology, an undergraduate course she loved as a student while at Bloomsburg University. Her ongoing research aims to understand attention and memory and how these processes are affected by aging.
