Patty Kirn Burns

Patty Burns (Kirn) was a four-year member of the women's swim team. She was a finalist at the NCAA Championships in 1993, 1994 and 1995 earning individual All-American honors five times.

As a sophomore Burns (Kirn) finished fourth at the NCAA Championships in the 200-fly, then as a junior took fifth in the 100-fly and was seventh in the 200-fly. In her senior year she finished sixth in the 100-fly in 58.97 and was fifth in the 200-fly in 2:08.21.  As a senior she was also part of two relays (400- and 800-free) that each finished eighth at the NCAA Championships to capture All-American honors. She was a Scholar-Athlete for three years and was runner-up to her teammate Stephanie Humphries on four occasions as the PSAC Championships.  Her times in both the 100- and 200-fly events are still ranked among the top 10 best times in school history.
