Christine Basalyga was a four-year member of the Bloomsburg field hockey team from 1992-95 and was a highly decorated midfielder during her time with the Huskies.
Basalyga was a three-time All-American selected by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) and a three-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) selection. She earned First Team All-America accolades following the 1994 and 1995 seasons after earning Second Team honors in 1993.

During Basalyga's career, the field hockey team compiled a 71-10-4 overall record, including a national championship in 1993 and PSAC championships in 1992 and 1993. During their national championship run in 1993, the Huskies went 21-0-1 for the year and 7-0-1 in the PSAC. Basalyga was a key member of one of the most dominant NCAA DII field hockey programs during her career as the Huskies advanced to the NCAA Tournament title game all four years.

Basalyga finished her career with nine goals and ten assists for 19 points, and was recognized as the team MVP in her final year.
