Hall of Fame
Houk was known both nationally and internationally for his involvement with wrestling. While Bloomsburg's head coach, he led his teams to three NAIA national championships and five Pennsylvania Conference titles and was named national "Coach of the Year" three times. In his 14 years, the Huskies were 142-34-4. In addition, Houk served three four-year terms, one as chairman, on the U.S. Olympic Wrestling Committee. He also managed the 1972 and 1976 freestyle teams. Houk has been inducted into the Pennsylvania Wrestling Hall of Fame and the NAIA Hall of Fame.
