Daly was a member of the Huskies' basketball team for two years and averaged over 12 points a game, including a team-high 13.5 in the 19951-52 season. After graduation, he went on to become a successful college and professional coach. As head coach at the University of Pennsylvania, Daly led his teams to a record of 125-38 in six years, winning four Ivy League titles and three Big Five crowns. He then moved on to the NBA where he was an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers and head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, New Jersey Nets and Orlando Magic. While coaching for Detroit, Daly led his team to back-to-back NBA championships.
